does this cost me anything?

No. ReturnMyCar is paid for by your leasing company. Charges for damage beyond fair wear and tear still come from them, under the agreement you signed — but you’ll see any of those at appraisal, not in a letter weeks later.
what if the car has damage?

Photograph it. Scuffs, stone chips and light kerbing are usually fair wear and tear. Anything past that gets assessed against the BVRLA standard and priced on screen, so you can decide whether to repair it yourself first.
